Hazer Group (ASX:HZR) entered into a binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with M Resources, which is pursuing the acquisition of One Steel Manufacturing, owner of the Whyalla steelworks in South Australia, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company's methane pyrolysis technology has been incorporated into M Resources' Whyalla steelworks acquisition proposal under the agreement, the filing said.
The partnership also aims to assess utilization of the company's graphite in Whyalla steelworks and consider opportunities in the Middle East and the US, per the filing.
Hazer Group shares rose 9% in morning trade on Friday.
