Hong Kong Stocks Open Higher, Tech Index Surges 1.9% with Active Airlines and Soaring Semiconductor Sector

US markets closed higher on Monday, with easing Middle East tensions and falling oil prices boosting sentiment. All three major indices ended the session in positive territory. The US dollar weakened, and the yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to around 4.47%. Gold prices rebounded significantly, while oil prices dropped sharply.

Hong Kong's three major stock indices opened higher today. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.06% at the open to 25,622.36 points, the Hang Seng Tech Index gained 1.9%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index advanced 0.26%.

Sector performance was mixed. Technology and internet stocks showed varied movements: NetEase rose over 2%, Lenovo gained more than 1%, while Meituan and JD.com fell over 1%. The semiconductor sector opened significantly higher, with HUA HONG SEMI surging over 14%. Airline stocks opened strong, with China Southern Airlines climbing over 3%. Oil stocks were broadly lower, with CNOOC dropping over 3%. Automobile stocks were divided: NIO fell more than 4%, while XPeng Motors jumped over 5%.
