Bank of America Securities issued a research report stating that SINO LAND's (00083) underlying net profit for the first half of the 2026 fiscal year, ending December last year, saw a slight decrease of 0.9% year-on-year to HK$2.22 billion. This figure was 6% lower than the bank's expectations, primarily due to reduced contributions from associated companies. However, the bank reaffirmed its "Buy" rating with a target price of HK$13.3.
The bank expects a significant recovery in SINO LAND's profits only by the 2027 fiscal year. This is because the group still has land projects with relatively high land cost set to be recognized. Nevertheless, management has now adopted a more open stance towards increasing dividends in the short term and no longer emphasizes earnings per share growth as a prerequisite.
Bank of America Securities continues to view SINO LAND as one of its preferred developers. This is due to its profits being more sensitive to rising property prices compared to peers, coupled with a strong balance sheet that provides ample capacity for replenishing land reserves. Furthermore, the dividend yield of 4.5% remains attractive.
