China Re Announces Q1 2026 Unaudited Results: Total Assets at RMB 94.11 Billion, Net Profit RMB 76.44 Million

China Reinsurance (Group) Corporation (“China Re”) released the unaudited financial data of its wholly owned subsidiary, China Property and Casualty Reinsurance Company Ltd. (“China Re P&C”), for the three months ended 31 March 2026.

Key Financials (PRC GAAP, unaudited)

1. Balance Sheet Highlights • Total assets reached RMB 94.11 billion, supported chiefly by financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss of RMB 24.97 billion and debt instruments at fair value through other comprehensive income of RMB 24.47 billion. • Cash and short-term time deposits stood at RMB 2.74 billion, while statutory deposits amounted to RMB 3.60 billion. • Total liabilities were RMB 67.22 billion, dominated by insurance contract liabilities of RMB 45.97 billion and securities sold under repurchase agreements of RMB 11.18 billion. • Shareholders’ equity totaled RMB 26.89 billion, giving an equity-to-assets ratio of roughly 28.6 percent.

Income Statement Highlights (Three-month period) • Operating income was RMB 6.58 billion, of which insurance revenue contributed RMB 6.22 billion (94.6 percent). • Investment income added RMB 541.02 million, offset by a fair-value loss of RMB 545.29 million and a foreign-exchange loss of RMB 31.26 million. • Operating expenses amounted to RMB 6.53 billion; insurance service expenses were RMB 5.90 billion. • Profit before tax stood at RMB 47.44 million. A tax credit of RMB 28.99 million lifted net profit to RMB 76.44 million. • Other comprehensive income was RMB 336.90 million, taking total comprehensive income to RMB 413.34 million.

Regulatory Disclosure

China Re P&C has outstanding capital supplementary bonds totaling RMB 8.00 billion. In line with bond-market requirements, the company will continue to publish quarterly financial and solvency information on the China Money and Shanghai Clearing House websites.
