In a recent organizational reshuffle within its Mobile Ecosystem Group (MEG), Baidu has merged its Commercial and E-commerce Business Units to form a new Major Commercial Business Unit. Additionally, the Digital Human Innovation Business Unit has been elevated to become an independent department.
The move follows the company's Create 2026 AI Developer Conference held on May 13, where Baidu announced the upgrade of its digital human brand, Huiboxing, to Baidu Yijing. The company introduced what it claims is the world's first full-scenario, multi-agent digital human platform, integrating digital human livestreaming, video production, and real-time interactive digital humans. It also launched an overseas version of Baidu Yijing. By the end of 2025, the number of digital human anchors on the Baidu Yijing platform had surpassed 100,000, serving over 30 industries. The platform notably supported the digital human livestream debut of Luo Yonghao, attracting over 13 million viewers and generating gross merchandise volume exceeding 55 million yuan.
This latest organizational adjustment is expected to help Baidu enhance operational efficiency, consolidate its strategic resources, and better position itself for the AI era.
