Shares of Advanced Energy Industries (AEIS) surged 10.33% in post-market trading Monday, driven by the release of second-quarter financial results that significantly exceeded analyst expectations. The precision power solutions company reported adjusted earnings of $2.74 per diluted share, up from $1.50 a year earlier, and well above the consensus estimate of $2.20. Revenue rose 30% year-over-year to $574.1 million, surpassing the expected $542.8 million.
The strong performance was fueled by record semiconductor equipment revenue, which climbed 33% to $278.3 million, and broad-based demand strength across all markets. Gross margin expanded to 41.1%, and cash flow from operations reached a record $86 million. Management noted that demand continues to strengthen and expects profitable growth into 2027.
Looking ahead, the company provided third-quarter guidance that also topped forecasts. Advanced Energy expects adjusted EPS of $3.00 plus or minus $0.25, compared to the consensus of $2.46, and revenue of $640 million plus or minus $20 million, above the $576.3 million analysts had projected. The upbeat outlook reinforced investor confidence, contributing to the sharp post-market rally.
