On September 21, the People's Bank of China set the yuan's central parity rate against the US dollar at 6.7487, representing an increase of 34 basis points from the previous fix.
According to the CME Group's "FedWatch" tool, market expectations show a 56.5% probability that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates by 25 basis points at its October meeting. Meanwhile, the odds of the Fed maintaining the current target range of 3.75%-4.00% are estimated at 43.5%.
Looking further ahead to the December policy decision, the probability of the Fed keeping rates unchanged in the 3.75%-4.00% range stands at 10.2%. Market pricing also indicates a 46.6% chance of a cumulative 25-basis-point hike by December, alongside a 33.3% likelihood of a cumulative 50-basis-point increase over the same period.
