The Nanhe Hub on the Baiyangdian Lake is a striking and magnificent sight this summer. It serves as a critical barrier for the water security of the "City of the Future" and has also become a new urban landmark integrating multiple functions. The scenery at Nanhe Hub is picturesque.

Situated at the "inlet" where the Xiong'an New Area's start-up zone urban water system flows into Baiyangdian Lake, the hub is located on the former site of Nanhe Village in Dawang Town, Anxin County. Nanhe Village was once an ancient settlement with a thousand-year history on the northern shore of Baiyangdian, primarily known for garment processing and agricultural cultivation. In recent years, the "Nanhe Site," covering 275,000 square meters, was discovered south of the village, making it one of the larger archaeological sites within the Xiong'an New Area. In October 2020, to make way for the construction of the "City of the Future," nearly 3,000 households from Nanhe Village were relocated, bidding farewell to their ancestral land.

Today, the Nanhe Hub has risen on the original site of the village, evolving into an ecological water conservancy project that combines flood control and drainage, water and land transportation, and cultural tourism. To commemorate the original Nanhe Village, this significant comprehensive water conservancy project was named the Nanhe Hub. It stands as the core of Xiong'an New Area's "rigorous flood control" system, designed to withstand a once-in-200-years flood event. The pump station is equipped with six submersible axial flow pumps, with a total installed capacity of 3,780 kilowatts and a designed drainage capacity of 60 cubic meters per second, making it six times more efficient than the old pump station. The ship lock can simultaneously accommodate four passenger vessels, each with a capacity of 200 passengers. The Baiyangdian Road (Southern Extension) where the Nanhe Hub is located connects to the Jingxiong Expressway in the north and Anxin County in the south.

The Nanhe Hub is affectionately called the "Dynamic Hub Park" by local residents and visitors. This park showcases a style that "blends Chinese and Western elements, with Chinese characteristics as the main focus, and integrates ancient and modern features." The elegant new Chinese-style architecture harmonizes beautifully with the lake water. The railings of the two landscape bridges, the Seventeen-Arch Bridge and the Single-Arch Bridge, are adorned with relief carvings depicting the local customs and life of Nanhe Village, enhancing the bridges' aesthetics while preserving the nostalgia and charm of the countryside, leaving visitors in awe and reluctant to leave.

The transformation from "Nanhe Village" to "Nanhe Hub" represents not only a continuation of a geographical name but also a model of the integration and symbiosis of traditional culture with future urban development in the construction of the Xiong'an New Area.
