Hong Kong Stocks Open Lower; Tech Shares Slide, Optical Communications Sector Rises

US markets showed mixed performance on Tuesday, ultimately closing higher as stocks related to artificial intelligence gained, boosting the overall market. All three major indices finished in positive territory. The US dollar held steady, while the yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to around 4.44%. Gold prices initially rose before retreating, and oil prices moved upward.

Today, Hong Kong's three major stock indices opened collectively lower. The Hang Seng Index began the session down 0.33% at 25,953.01 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.7%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index declined 0.45%.

Looking at sector performance, technology and internet stocks were broadly lower.

LENOVO GROUP (HKG: 0992)

LENOVO GROUP's stock fell more than 7%. Bilibili, Baidu, Kuaishou, JD.com, and NetEase all dropped over 1%.

Chip stocks opened higher, with Montage Technology gaining more than 5%. The innovative drug concept was active, with Lepu Biopharma rising over 1%.

The optical communications sector saw widespread gains, with Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable advancing more than 3%.

Gold stocks opened lower, with Shandong Gold Mining declining over 2%. Automobile stocks were partially weaker, with NIO falling more than 3%.

SHOUGANG LANZA (HKG: 2553)

SHOUGANG LANZA made its market debut today, with its share price surging more than 91% on its first day of trading.
