On September 16, JD.com held a wine tasting event in collaboration with Kweichow Moutai. During the event, JD.com Group founder Liu Qiangdong emphasized that business competition should be conducted through proper channels - strategy, business models, value creation, and reputation.

He stressed the importance of not allowing normal business competition to deteriorate into personal grudges, calling such behavior "unnecessary."

"I have great respect and admiration for Brother Xing (Wang Xing)," Liu said. "I hope companies can be more open with each other, keep things simple and pure, and avoid overthinking."

The comments appear to signal Liu's desire for a more constructive relationship between JD.com and Meituan, two of China's major e-commerce and technology platforms. Wang Xing is the founder and CEO of Meituan, which operates one of China's largest food delivery and local services platforms.

Liu's remarks highlight the ongoing competitive dynamics in China's technology sector, while advocating for a focus on business fundamentals rather than personal conflicts between industry leaders.
