China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently approved Zhejiang Spacetime DaoYu Technology Co., Ltd. to launch a two-year commercial trial for satellite IoT services.

The approval allows Spacetime DaoYu, backed by automaker Geely, to pilot satellite IoT operations leveraging the "Geely Future Mobility Constellation (Phase I)" to deliver wide-coverage, low-power, and high-reliability connectivity for sectors such as smart transportation, marine fisheries, and energy infrastructure, enabling round-the-clock intelligent data collection and remote interaction.

This move marks a significant step in opening satellite IoT services to private enterprises, boosting private-sector vitality, supporting the commercial space industry, and fostering new quality productive forces for a modern industrial system. The ministry stated it will continue optimizing satellite communication market access, strengthening oversight and security, and advancing the high-quality growth of China's satellite communications industry to support the nation's manufacturing, network, space, and digital ambitions.
