At the same time, his successor, Yu Chao, the current General Manager of Hami Telecom, is also a figure worthy of note. Currently, there is limited publicly available information about Yu Chao. In 2022, Yu Chao attended relevant events in the role of General Manager of the Government and Key Enterprise Business Division at Xinjiang Telecom, indicating he had already been promoted to a departmental-level cadre several years ago. Subsequently, Yu Chao also served as General Manager of the China Telecom Digital Intelligence Xinjiang Branch. According to Tianyancha records, around the end of November 2025, Yu Chao succeeded Duan Lei as the General Manager of Hami Telecom. Public data shows that in 2024, Hami City's regional GDP exceeded 100 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 108.39 billion yuan, placing it in the middle tier within Xinjiang. Correspondingly, the overall scale of Hami Telecom is not among the largest in the province, although the municipal branch is still regarded as important by the provincial company. Reviewing the recent General Managers of Hami Telecom, besides Duan Lei's promotion to Vice President of Shaanxi Telecom, the predecessor was the former General Manager Gu Xudong, who currently serves as Director of the Xinjiang Telecom Long-Distance Transmission Bureau. Although still a departmental-level cadre, his position is highly significant.
