A customs supervision site for waterway transportation, operated by Tangshan Caofeidian Ore Storage Co., Ltd., has successfully passed customs inspection in the Caofeidian port area. This facility simultaneously obtained a registration certificate for customs-supervised cargo warehousing enterprises, officially granting it operational qualifications.
Designated as the initial phase of the Caofeidian ore storage base, the site boasts a static storage capacity of 3 million tons. This capacity will provide ample stacking and turnover space for the regular berthing and unloading of massive 400,000-ton vessels, thereby enhancing the Caofeidian port area's pivotal role within China's national iron ore transportation network.
The Caofeidian port area of Tangshan Port serves as a critical national hub for iron ore imports. Leveraging its continuously improving warehousing and storage infrastructure, alongside optimized customs supervision services, the port area has seen a sustained increase in its foreign trade volume of bulk mineral products. Data shows that from January to June of this year, the Caofeidian port area imported 76.5827 million tons of iron ore, valued at 46.047 billion yuan, representing year-on-year increases of 11.56% and 15.22%, respectively.
