Since the launch of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the regional Party committee has translated the "Four Major Initiatives" into concrete actions through the "Four Creations." The rapid growth of Tibet's clean energy sector stands as a landmark achievement in implementing these initiatives. In this series of reports highlighting tangible outcomes, we visit the Shannan Clean Energy Equipment Industrial Park, developed by CRRC—the first of its kind in Tibet and currently the world's highest-altitude clean energy equipment manufacturing base.

On August 14, 2024, the industrial park saw its first batch of products roll off the production line. It has since begun mass-producing core equipment such as substations, high- and low-voltage complete sets of devices, and integrated automation systems. These "Made in Tibet" products are now playing a vital role in supporting the world's highest-altitude wind and solar power projects.

Notably, the industrial park is deeply integrated with ecological conservation efforts. The "Photovoltaics Plus Desert Control" project in Zhanang County has met all conditions for construction. Once completed, it will not only generate electricity but also help combat desertification, delivering dual benefits of "green on green."

Alongside industrial development, the park has created tangible employment opportunities for local residents. Pubu Duoji, a local employee from Zhanang County who joined in November last year, expressed that working close to home allows him to care for his parents—a significant advantage. His colleague, Suolang Cuomu, also shared her happiness and strong attachment to her job. So far, more than 20 local university graduates have established their careers and grown professionally at the facility.

As a pioneer in filling the clean energy equipment manufacturing gap in Shannan, the industrial park is not only injecting green momentum into Tibet's development but also plans to advance the digital and intelligent upgrading of power transmission, transformation, and automation production lines in the future. As workshop director Zou Wenchao noted, this initiative reflects both a commitment to national strategies supporting Tibet and a strategic choice rooted in the region's resource advantages and long-term benefits.

From equipment manufacturing to clean energy application, Tibet is leveraging its unique plateau advantages to contribute steadily to carbon neutrality goals and the high-quality development of the plateau economy. This green transformation is a promising endeavor worthy of collective anticipation.
