On April 28 at 17:20 local time, flight MU881 departed from Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, marking the official inauguration of the Dalian-Nanchang-Singapore air route. This development follows the implementation of the mutual visa exemption for ordinary passport holders between China and Singapore in February 2024. China has since become both the largest source of tourists for Singapore and a top travel destination for Singaporean citizens, fostering robust two-way travel exchanges between the two nations. The new route is expected to effectively meet the strong travel demand between Dalian and Singapore.

Operated by China Eastern Airlines, the service will run three times per week. Outbound flights are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing from Dalian at 17:20 and arriving in Singapore at 2:10 the following morning. Return flights will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, leaving Singapore at 3:10 and landing in Dalian at 12:05 (all times local).

Jiang Bin, Chairman of Dalian Airport Group, stated that Singapore serves as a key international aviation hub and economic center in Southeast Asia, with strong complementary industries and a solid cooperative foundation with Dalian. The launch of the Dalian-Singapore route establishes an aerial corridor for exchange and collaboration between the two cities, providing travelers with more convenient and efficient travel options.

To date, Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport has launched seven international and regional routes, connecting cities including Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, Seoul in South Korea, Singapore, Vladivostok in Russia, and Hong Kong, China. The airport continues to lead Northeast China in terms of total international flight volume.
