HWORLD-S (01179) shares surged more than 11% in early trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with the stock climbing 11.51% to HK$36.44 at the time of writing, on a turnover of HK$5.41 million. The sharp rally follows the release of the company's unaudited financial results for the second quarter and the first half of 2026 on August 17.
During the second quarter, H World Group recorded revenue of RMB 7.121 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 10.8%. Net profit attributable to the company reached approximately RMB 1.6 billion, up 2.1% compared with the same period last year. For the first half of the year, total revenue came in at RMB 13.117 billion, up 11.0% year-on-year, with attributable net profit of around RMB 2.4 billion.
Looking ahead, the board has approved a three-year shareholder return programme totalling US$2.5 billion, which includes a dividend distribution of US$0.087 per share. In addition, H World Group has raised its full-year guidance, now expecting group revenue growth of 4% to 8%, up from the previous forecast of 2% to 6%. The company also lifted its expectations for management and franchised revenue growth to 16% to 20%, compared with the earlier projection of 12% to 16%.
