Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical (00338) issued its 2025 third quarter results, showing revenue of RMB19.36 billion for the reporting period, down 13.8% year-on-year. From January to September 2025, revenue reached RMB58.89 billion, representing a 10.77% drop compared to the same period last year.

Net profit attributable to shareholders during the third quarter reversed from the previous year, coming in at RMB30.60 million—up by 361.67% year-on-year. The company attributed this improvement to a higher operating margin for petrochemical products. However, for the nine months ended 30 September 2025, it recorded a net loss attributable to shareholders of RMB431.53 million, driven mainly by a decline in petroleum product sales.

Basic earnings per share for the third quarter stood at RMB0.003, a 200% increase compared to the same period a year earlier. Net profit excluding non-recurring items reached RMB45.43 million, showcasing a 233.23% year-on-year surge.

Cash flow performance was weaker compared to last year. Net cash flows from operating activities in the third quarter declined by 81.28% to RMB1.89 billion, while for the first nine months of the year, the figure totaled RMB2.67 billion—a 74.42% decrease from a year earlier. The company attributed the decline to lower cash inflows from sales of goods and services.

As of 30 September 2025, total assets stood at RMB41.86 billion, while total equity attributable to shareholders amounted to RMB24.27 billion, marking a 3.08% decrease from the end of last year.
