The report identifies the creator as British cryptographer Adam Back, who remains a significant figure in the Bitcoin space to this day.

The New York Times' analysis is primarily based on textual examination of past emails and forum posts, with particular attention to non-standard hyphen usage and British spelling patterns.

Back has repeatedly denied being Satoshi Nakamoto.

According to cryptocurrency exchange Arkham, Satoshi Nakamoto holds Bitcoin valued at approximately $73 billion.

Back's company, BSTR Holding, has agreed to merge with the shell company Cantor Equity Partners I.

In a podcast transcript filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Back referred to himself as "one of the earliest participants in Bitcoin" and stated that he was the first person to receive an email from Satoshi Nakamoto. Back had developed core elements of mining technology as early as 1997.
