China Southern Airlines Company Limited (SSE: 600029) has released its operational data for May 2026.

The group's passenger capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), decreased by 2.85% year-on-year. This decline was driven by domestic and regional routes, which fell by 7.64% and 6.35% respectively, while international capacity saw an increase of 10.55%.

Passenger traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), declined by 4.20% compared to the same period last year. Domestic and regional RPK dropped by 8.84% and 0.53% respectively, whereas international RPK rose by 9.00%.

The passenger load factor for the month stood at 84.69%, representing a decrease of 1.19 percentage points from May of the previous year. The domestic and international load factors decreased by 1.13 and 1.18 percentage points respectively, while the regional load factor improved, increasing by 4.69 percentage points.

On the cargo side, capacity measured in available cargo tonne kilometers (ACTK) decreased by 2.40% in May 2026. Cargo traffic, measured in revenue cargo tonne kilometers (RCTK), saw a marginal decline of 0.03%.

The cargo load factor for the month was 55.44%, showing an improvement of 1.31 percentage points compared to the same month in the prior year.
