At the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) in Pittsburgh, USA, Sharpa released three self-developed products: the integrated tactile-sensing dexterous manipulation robot D01, the next-generation full-tactile ultra-compact and lightweight dexterous hand W02, and the high-fidelity exoskeleton tactile data glove AE01.
These products respectively target full-body motion execution, fine hand manipulation, and high-quality manipulation data collection, providing a complete hardware closed loop for complex contact-rich operations in real environments.
As Sharpa's first integrated tactile-sensing dexterous manipulation robot, D01 was designed from the outset around dexterity, agility, and precision, aimed at tasks requiring simultaneous high-speed movement, high-precision control, and complex physical contact.
In contact-rich manipulation scenarios, robots are often forced to compromise among speed, force, and precision: moving fast makes fine control difficult; sufficient force makes sensitivity hard to achieve. D01 breaks this trade-off—its arm payload-to-self-weight ratio is close to 1:1, maximum end-effector speed exceeds 10.5 m/s, communication frequency reaches 1,000 Hz, repeat positioning accuracy is 0.2 mm, and the spherical wrist joint adopts a 1:1 human-scale design, allowing high-speed motion and fine manipulation to coexist in the same body.
In addition, D01 is equipped with body electronic skin, enabling the robot for the first time to directly perceive contact and collision with its "skin" like a human, giving D01 near-human reaction and force control capabilities in highly dynamic scenarios such as catching falling objects and withstanding unexpected collisions, for scenarios with extremely high safety requirements such as industrial collaboration and home services.
At the exhibition site, the Sharpa robot launched a speed-and-dexterity reaction stick challenge, grasping all ten sticks with zero misses, with reaction speed surpassing that of humans.
Furthermore, Sharpa's newly released next-generation full-tactile ultra-compact and lightweight dexterous hand W02 integrates 21 active degrees of freedom into a more compact and lighter structure, with the overall hand size reduced by about 30% compared to the previous generation, reducing forearm load while also allowing the dexterous hand to be installed into workspaces designed to human hand dimensions.
On the perception side, W02's fingertips are equipped with high-resolution visual-tactile sensors, with a force sensing range of 5 mN to 30 N and spatial resolution of 1 mm; the remaining palm area is covered by electronic skin, with a force sensing range of 0.1–20 N and spatial resolution of 5 mm, making the entire hand a sensing organ.
Sharpa also simultaneously launched the high-fidelity exoskeleton tactile data glove AE01, targeting precise teleoperation and first-person data collection. AE01 precisely captures the operator's natural hand movements through 22 encoders and maps them in real time to the robot, achieving more natural and more sensitive high-fidelity teleoperation.
