Southern California Edison has announced it will host a community meeting on June 30 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena. The gathering will bring together company officials and program participants to share the latest updates on the wildfire recovery compensation program and connect community members with resources for rebuilding.

Details of the Community Meeting

The meeting is scheduled for 6 PM to 8 PM on June 30. Refreshments will be available, and Spanish translation services will be provided. In addition to a panel discussion with program participants, SCE experts will be on-site to answer questions related to home reconstruction and recovery. This event is one of SCE's key initiatives in its continued support for the affected communities.

Latest Figures from the Compensation Program

To date, through the wildfire recovery compensation program, SCE has made over $675 million in compensation available to community members. Specific data includes:

Nearly 3,600 claims have been received, involving approximately 10,900 individuals, trusts, and legal entities.

More than 1,950 compensation offers have been issued to nearly 4,800 claimants.

Close to 1,600 claimants have received payments, totaling nearly $230 million.

Positive Feedback from Participants

SCE initiated a survey on June 1 targeting participants who have already received compensation. Preliminary feedback indicates that 82% of respondents view the compensation program favorably.

"Everyone we have encountered has been incredibly kind and helpful. They made us feel that they genuinely cared about our situation," said homeowner Vicki Ruiz, who lost her home completely. "We are very satisfied with the compensation offer we received."

Another respondent stated, "It seemed a bit daunting at first, but once we got started, everything was straightforward. I have already encouraged everyone to apply."

Expedited Compensation Process

The compensation program is designed to provide settlements comparable in value to those from past wildfire litigation, but through a more streamlined and faster process. On average, compensation offers are issued within 35 days of receiving a substantially complete claim, which is well under the 90-day commitment. The acceptance rate for these offers exceeds 72%. Eligible individuals and businesses can submit applications until November 30, 2026.
