On December 4, a trial rail transport train carrying power batteries departed from Chengdu International Railway Port, marking the launch of a new rail transport model for Chengdu-made power batteries.

The train was loaded with power batteries produced by CALB (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. and departed from Chengdu Huatie Special Railway Line, operated by China Railway Eighth Bureau Group Modern Logistics Co., Ltd., heading to Shanghai.

A representative from Chengdu International Railway Port Economic Development Zone stated that this trial run integrated resources such as corporate cargo, specialized containers, and dedicated railway lines, successfully establishing a key rail transport node for power batteries. This initiative supports Chengdu International Railway Port in providing "refined" logistics services.

The trial also reflects the coordinated efforts between Qingbaijiang District and Longquanyi District in Chengdu. In 2021, CALB (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. established operations in Longquanyi District, with its power battery installations ranking among the highest in China.

"Rail transport diversifies our logistics options," said a company representative. Previously, the firm relied mainly on road transport for its power batteries. "Rail offers greater capacity, higher safety and stability, and lower logistics costs. Once regular operations begin, we expect logistics costs to decrease by 20% to 30%."
