On July 10th, multiple districts in Beijing issued severe rainstorm warnings.

In response to the changing consumption patterns brought by the heavy rainfall, key market entities such as Xinfadi and Wumart have implemented dual supply guarantee measures for essential goods during the flood season to ensure sufficient vegetable supply and stable prices.

The Xinfadi market, a central hub for vegetable distribution in Beijing, has coordinated with merchants to manage the dispatch of goods from production areas, ensuring the smooth flow of vegetables into the capital and maintaining a stable supply.

Tong Wei, head of the publicity department at the Xinfadi market, stated that the market's vegetable supply volume reached 21,300 tons on July 10th. The supply, primarily sourced from surrounding production areas near Beijing, is ample. The weighted average price of vegetables was 2.46 yuan per kilogram, with overall vegetable prices remaining low and not yet affected by the weather.

Offline supermarkets have simultaneously activated emergency supply measures.

Wumart Supermarket, leveraging its AI-powered digital supply chain system and AI intelligent replenishment system, has proactively assessed factors such as weather impact, resident purchasing habits, and short-term stockpiling demand. Based on this, it has adjusted product ratios and significantly increased reserves of vegetables, meat, eggs, rice, flour, cooking oil, drinking water, instant food, and daily necessities. The stock level of goods has doubled compared to the previous period to meet the concentrated purchasing needs of residents during the rainfall.

Xu Lina, a spokesperson for the Wumart Group, explained that during heavy rainstorms, home-based consumption increases, leading to a rise in immediate purchasing demand. Focusing on residents' daily essential categories, Wumart will increase the supply of seasonal vegetables, packaged instant food, bottled water, and frozen ingredients.

This round of supply guarantee covers the entire duration of the rainstorm and will involve dynamic additional replenishment based on changes in customer flow, ensuring sufficient supply of key product categories and stable prices.
