U.S. Steel has announced it will invest $1.9 billion to build a new direct-reduced iron (DRI) production facility at its Big River Steel plant in Arkansas.
The facility will be the first of its kind in the United States.
The project is expected to create approximately 200 full-time jobs and 35 permanent full-time contractor positions, with an additional 2,000 construction jobs anticipated during the peak of the building phase.
