A joint enforcement operation has been conducted in Wudalianchi City, Heilongjiang Province, targeting the traditional gold and silver jewelry market to combat counterfeit products and protect consumer rights. The initiative, led by the local Market Supervision Administration in collaboration with the Public Security Bureau, aims to ensure market order and safeguard the authenticity of consumer purchases.

The joint task force conducted thorough inspections at various gold and silver jewelry stores across the city. The checks focused on product quality, business qualifications, certification documentation, and measurement instruments to ensure comprehensive oversight.

Regarding product and certificate verification, authorities meticulously examined purchase records, supply receipts, and product quality certificates. Each piece of jewelry was checked for material composition, purity, and identification marks. The authenticity and validity of gemological appraisal and quality inspection certificates were verified through QR code scans and official website checks. This process aimed to identify and penalize illegal activities such as certificate forgery, misrepresentation of products, and false labeling of material purity, thereby strengthening quality control at the entry point.

In the measurement supervision phase, officials inspected mandatory verification measurement devices like electronic scales used by retailers. They checked whether these instruments were legally and regularly calibrated and identified any issues such as expired or invalid calibrations. The operation sought to crack down on fraudulent practices like scale tampering and short-weighting that harm consumer interests, ensuring accurate and standardized market measurements.

Additionally, inspectors verified the validity of business licenses, compliance with price transparency regulations, and the absence of false advertising or price fraud. These measures were implemented to standardize the business conduct of all market participants.

During the operation, the enforcement team combined law enforcement with public education. They provided on-site guidance to retailers about relevant laws, including the Product Quality Law, the Consumer Rights Protection Law, and the Metrology Law. Officials explained requirements for quality control, certificate standardization, and measurement management. Retailers were encouraged to adopt honest business practices, fulfill their primary responsibilities, standardize procurement and record-keeping procedures, and voluntarily refrain from illegal activities to help maintain a fair and orderly market environment.

This joint enforcement action effectively identified and addressed potential risks within the local gold and silver jewelry market. It served as a strong deterrent against the sale of counterfeit goods and measurement violations, further regulating operations in the traditional craft sector. Moving forward, the Wudalianchi Market Supervision Administration plans to strengthen collaboration with public security and other departments. The goal is to establish a sustainable joint enforcement mechanism, increase the frequency and intensity of market inspections, and conduct regular anti-counterfeiting campaigns. These efforts are intended to strictly penalize various market violations, ensure the safety of the local consumer market, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
