Shares of Solaris Resources Inc (SLSR) surged 5.70% in intraday trading on Wednesday, following the announcement of a significant investment from Royal Gold. The stock's impressive rally comes as investors react positively to the news of a $200 million deal that secures gold streaming and royalty rights for Solaris' Warintza copper-gold-molybdenum project in southeastern Ecuador.

According to the agreement, Royal Gold's subsidiary, RGLD Gold AG, will invest $200 million in the Warintza project. The deal covers an initial area of 31 square kilometers, with the potential to expand to 186 square kilometers if certain conditions are met. The funding structure includes an initial $100 million payment at closing, followed by two $50 million installments tied to technical milestones and the registration of project security in Ecuador.

This substantial investment is likely viewed by the market as a strong vote of confidence in Solaris Resources and its Warintza project. The deal not only provides Solaris with significant funding for project development but also validates the potential value of the Warintza copper-gold-molybdenum deposit. As part of the agreement, Royal Gold will receive gold deliveries equivalent to 20 ounces per million pounds of copper produced, paying 20% of spot prices for up to 90,000 ounces and 60% thereafter. This arrangement could provide Solaris with a steady stream of revenue as the project progresses, which may have contributed to the positive sentiment driving the stock's surge.
