NVIDIA Launches Computing Platform Designed for Robots, with Domestic Manufacturers Including Unitree Technology and ZhiYuan Robotics Among Early Adopters

On the evening of August 25, NVIDIA announced the launch of the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor developer kit and production-level modules, specifically designed for physical AI and robotics applications. The products provide computing power support for robots across manufacturing, logistics, transportation, healthcare, agriculture, and retail industries.

NVIDIA stated that over 2 million developers are currently using the company's robotics technology stack. Several companies have already begun utilizing Jetson Thor, including United Imaging Healthcare, WanJi Technology, UBTECH, Galaxy General, Unitree Technology, ZongQing Robotics, and ZhiYuan Robotics.

Compared to the previous generation Jetson AGX Orin, the newly released Jetson Thor is built on NVIDIA's Blackwell chip architecture, delivering a 7.5-fold improvement in AI computing power and a 3.5-fold enhancement in energy efficiency. The platform supports all mainstream AI frameworks and generative AI models, is compatible with NVIDIA's software stack from cloud to edge, and can run multiple AI workflows simultaneously to enable real-time inference, allowing robots to interact intelligently with humans and the physical world in real-time.

NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated that Jetson Thor is designed for developers to help them build robotic systems that can interact with and even transform the physical world, capable of running multiple generative AI models simultaneously on edge devices.

Wang Xingxing, Founder and CEO of Unitree Technology, commented that Jetson Thor brings a computational leap forward, empowering robots with greater agility, faster decision-making, and higher levels of autonomy, which is crucial for robots to achieve navigation and interaction in the real world. Wang He, Founder and CTO of Galaxy General, noted that after adopting Jetson Thor, the company's G1 Premium product has achieved significant improvements in movement speed and motion fluidity.
