Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 747,958 ordinary shares on Sep, 17 2026, following repurchases made on Sep, 15 2026. The cancellation lowered the company’s issued share capital to 2,487,868,060 ordinary shares.
On the same day, the group repurchased a further 583,592 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging from GBP 9.826 to GBP 9.972 per share, for a total consideration of about GBP 5.78 million. These shares are scheduled for cancellation.
Under the authority granted at the May 14 2025 annual general meeting (AGM), total repurchases have reached 122,066,140 shares, equal to 4.69 % of the issued share capital at that mandate’s approval date. Under the renewed mandate from the May 28 2026 AGM, repurchases now stand at 3,435,513 shares, or 0.14 % of the relevant issued share base.
Following the latest transactions, Prudential is subject to a moratorium restricting new share issues, sales or transfers of treasury shares until Oct, 17 2026.
