During the New Year's Day holiday, the waters of the Jingzhou Public Security Section of the Yangtze River were bustling with vessel traffic, yet order was meticulously maintained. The Jingzhou Public Security Maritime Department fully utilized modern technological means such as drones, intelligent control platforms, and video surveillance systems to construct a multi-dimensional supervision network encompassing "air, shore, and vessel," achieving "panoramic control" of waterway traffic safety during the holiday period and effectively ensuring safe and unimpeded navigation within its jurisdiction. At around 8:00 AM on January 2nd, following a command, a drone took off from the Public Security Maritime pontoon boat to conduct an aerial patrol of key water areas in the jurisdiction. Simultaneously, in the duty room of the Jingzhou Public Security Maritime Department, personnel on duty could access real-time CCTV feeds from key terminals, ferry crossings, and bridge areas across the jurisdiction via an integrated intelligent control platform, which was also linked with the Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Very High Frequency (VHF) communications. Upon detecting anomalies in vessel tracks or potential violations during electronic surveillance, duty officers could immediately send targeted voice and text warnings to specific vessels through the platform, achieving "precise hailing and instant correction." Recently, the department has successfully handled multiple potential risks using this method. It is understood that during this New Year's Day period, the Jingzhou Public Security Maritime Department focused on highlighting technological application, driving a transformation of the supervision model from the traditional "human wave tactic" to "intelligent sensing." Mobile drone patrols formed an "aerial extension," CCTV and the intelligent control platform constituted the "shore-based core," and dynamic law enforcement by patrol boats served as the "waterborne foundation." With interconnected data and coordinated operations among these three elements, a comprehensive, gap-free, multi-dimensional safety prevention and control system was formed, significantly enhancing the proactivity of risk warnings and the response speed for emergency handling. In the next step, the Jingzhou Public Security Maritime Department will continue to explore the deep integration of technology and maritime operations, continuously improving the modernization level of waterway traffic safety governance to provide a more solid safety guarantee for the high-quality development of Yangtze River shipping.
