On November 15, at the Hefei Future Science City in Anhui Province, construction crews worked intensively amid the roar of machinery at the BEST (Compact Fusion Energy Experimental Facility) site, striving to complete the project as early as possible. The facility is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027 and holds significant strategic importance for China in pioneering cutting-edge fusion energy research, validating key technologies for future fusion reactors, and maintaining global leadership in fusion energy development.
