On September 18, the 15th resident work team stationed in Zhathongka Village, Sangdo Township, Riwoche County, together with the village committee, organized a thematic educational session on national defense for all citizens. This initiative was carried out to implement the requirements outlined in the 2026 National Defense Education Publicity Plan by the publicity departments of both Qamdo City and Riwoche County, aiming to strengthen the national defense awareness and national security consciousness of local party members and residents.
Before the event, the resident work team and the village committee worked diligently to create a vibrant atmosphere promoting interest in, passion for, and dedication to national defense. They utilized the village's LED display screen to broadcast relevant content on a rolling basis, hung promotional banners, and widely publicized defense education slogans throughout the community.
Sireng Lobu, the village party branch secretary and grassroots speaker, led the presentation. He addressed the attending party members and residents using clear and accessible language suited to the local herding community context. His talk covered fundamental defense knowledge, national security-related laws and regulations, and the significance of national defense construction. He also imparted essential tips on air defense, disaster prevention, and emergency evacuation procedures.
During his address, Sireng Lobu urged everyone to remember history and understand that matters of national security are never trivial. He called on all participants to conscientiously fulfill their national defense obligations and to take an active interest in and support the nation's defense efforts.
In the future, the resident work team, in cooperation with the village committee, will persist in conducting defense education on a regular and sustained basis. Their goal is to broaden the reach of these initiatives and ensure that national defense awareness takes root in the hearts and minds of all residents.
