Warren Buffett has told CNBC that the current environment is not ideal for deploying Berkshire Hathaway's record-breaking cash reserves. As the company's cash pile reaches an all-time high, Buffett expressed dissatisfaction with the overall investment climate.

The former CEO stated in an interview with CNBC's Becky Quick, "For the deployment of Berkshire's capital, the current market conditions are not what we would ideally want." He emphasized that Berkshire Hathaway has an excellent management team capable of waiting patiently for the right opportunities to arise.

Buffett explained that while it may appear from the outside that the company is sometimes inactive, it is, in fact, prepared to act decisively when the right moment arrives. He acknowledged that a key reason for the reluctance to invest large amounts of capital is the generally high valuation levels across the market.

When asked about the timing for suitable investment opportunities, Buffett indicated that opportunities would naturally emerge when "nobody wants to answer the phone," suggesting that the ideal time to invest would be during a market downturn or correction.
