A drone science education experience class recently brought excitement to the summer care service point at Suzhou's Xiangcheng District Huangqiao Yuelin Square. From ancient dreams of flying to hands-on drone racing, children learned about flight principles while having fun, creating a lively atmosphere.

The class began by tracing humanity's long-standing fascination with flight, sparking children's curiosity about the science behind it. During the interactive session, the instructor displayed a mini drone and asked, "Has anyone flown a drone before? What does a drone look like?" Many hands shot up, with some sharing their toy drones at home and others mentioning aerial photography devices seen in parks. Building on these responses, the teacher explained common drone types, including quadcopters and fixed-wing models, and highlighted their practical applications in daily life, helping children feel that technology is all around them.

After the theory, hands-on training began. The instructor patiently explained the functions of the remote control joysticks, and the children listened intently, eager to try. They then moved to an outdoor area for practical experience. During a familiarization session, each child took turns operating the drone, starting with shaky movements and gradually progressing to stable hovering and slow maneuvering, with every small achievement cheered by their peers.

Following the warm-up, a red-and-blue team drone soccer match officially kicked off. Drones encased in spherical protective cages became "airborne soccer balls." The young competitors focused intently on their controls, deftly manipulating the joysticks for offensive and defensive maneuvers. The tension and excitement were palpable, while the cheering and applause from the sidelines reached a crescendo, pushing the atmosphere to its peak.

After several rounds, the children not only mastered operational skills but also experienced the joy of teamwork through collaboration. This comprehensive drone class, blending science, practice, and competition, allowed children to immerse themselves in the fascination of technology, adding a unique highlight to their summer vacation. Looking ahead, the Huangqiao Yuelin Square summer care service point plans to introduce more engaging science activities to accompany children through a fulfilling and meaningful holiday.
