On Monday morning, reports emerged suggesting that Honda had instructed its suppliers to implement significant price reductions. According to these reports, the automaker aimed to cut costs on certain key components by 30%, including parts related to software-defined vehicles.

In response to inquiries from Yicai, Honda China stated: "This is not content released by Honda officially. Regarding cost optimization activities, Honda has always been committed to collaborative innovation with suppliers to enhance its global competitiveness in research and development, production, and procurement, and continues to carry out related work."

Earlier on Monday, Reuters reported that Honda Motor plans to save 1.5 trillion yen (approximately 63.088 billion yuan at current exchange rates) over the next four years, targeting a 30% cost reduction across three key areas: stamped and forged parts, electronic components, and software-defined vehicle-related parts.

Regarding joint development efforts, Honda and Nissan announced on September 1 that they will jointly develop standardized electronic control units for software-defined vehicles. The two companies plan to launch vehicle electronic architectures built around these units starting from the fiscal year 2029.
