The 2025 New Automotive Cooperation Ecosystem Exchange was held in Suzhou from December 5 to 6. Li Chengjun, Deputy Dean of the Smart Cockpit Research Institute at GEELY AUTO's Research Institute, attended and delivered a speech.

Li Chengjun stated that the industry has largely completed the phase of weak artificial intelligence (AI). The next stage, by 2027, will see the widespread adoption of general-purpose AI.

"AI will no longer be a single-function tool but a collaborative partner with humans. It can automatically break down and interpret human instructions, utilizing all connected tools and systems to accomplish tasks assigned by users," Li said. He emphasized that all industries must integrate general-purpose AI into their products in the next phase.

Li Chengjun highlighted that future smart cockpits, leveraging in-vehicle computing power, ecosystems, and strategic applications, will likely combine fragmented ecosystem data through AI capabilities. This will enable seamless machine-human interaction, allowing users to complete complex commands with just a single sentence.

He pointed out that the technological breakthrough of future smart cockpits lies in long- and short-term memory. Memory will no longer be confined to database fields or configuration files but will instead be embedded as core parameters in edge-side AI networks. Learning and decision-making will also be facilitated through AI, achieving true integration of AI and vehicles.
