Jinchuan Group International Resources (JINCHUAN INTL) released an unaudited operational update for the three months ended 31 March 2026, highlighting strong production growth tempered by sales restrictions in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Copper production reached 18,021 tonnes, a 29.5 % increase from 13,914 tonnes a year earlier. The jump was driven by the Musonoi Mine, which entered commercial operation in November 2025, partially offset by power-supply instability and acid-plant maintenance at Ruashi Mine.
Cobalt production surged to 2,139 tonnes from 71 tonnes in the prior-year period, also attributable to Musonoi Mine’s contribution.
Sales volumes lagged output. Copper sales slipped 2.2 % to 11,689 tonnes, reflecting a government-imposed export ban on Ruashi Mining SAS from January to February 2026; shipments resumed in March. Cobalt sales amounted to just 7 tonnes as administrative procedures for export quotas continued.
Trading in JINCHUAN INTL shares remains suspended since 28 March 2025, with no timetable for resumption disclosed.
