According to data from TONGCHENGTRAVEL, during this year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period, overall domestic hotel booking enthusiasm increased by more than 65% year-on-year, while bookings for domestic hotels with stays of 2 days or more surged by over 52% compared to the same period last year. The 8-day extended holiday, combined with strategic vacation extension plans, provided ample time for travelers to engage in high-frequency local and regional tourism, as well as long-distance travel spanning multiple provinces. During the holiday period, the proportion of users booking 2 or more cities simultaneously increased by more than 20% year-on-year.
The rise of "county tourism" and reverse travel trends has also boosted booking enthusiasm for high-quality hotels in non-first-tier cities. TONGCHENGTRAVEL data shows that during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, booking enthusiasm for high-quality hotels in domestic non-first-tier cities increased by more than 90% year-on-year, exceeding the overall booking enthusiasm for high-quality hotels nationwide. The top 5 domestic non-first-tier cities with the highest booking enthusiasm for high-quality hotels were: Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, and Changsha.
Furthermore, over 30 county-level destinations experienced hotel booking enthusiasm growth exceeding 100% year-on-year. The five county-level destinations with the highest growth rates in holiday hotel bookings were: Pingtan County in Fuzhou, Horgos City in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Hexigten Banner in Chifeng, Liuba County in Hanzhong, and Dongtou District in Wenzhou. Under the influence of the Mid-Autumn Festival's family reunion atmosphere, bookings for accommodations with 2 or more bedrooms on the TONGCHENGTRAVEL platform increased by 140% year-on-year.
