Amplitude Energy has awarded a contract to JDR Cable Systems for the supply of subsea control umbilicals for its East Coast Supply Project, located offshore Victoria. The project is designed to support the delivery of natural gas to southeastern Australia.

JDR will supply approximately 18 kilometers of hydraulic control umbilicals, with an option to extend the supply by an additional 13 kilometers based on drilling outcomes.

The project will deliver natural gas to the Athena Gas Plant, which has a processing capacity of up to 150 terajoules per day. This facility will supply gas to households and businesses across Victoria and South Australia.

The contract covers thermoplastic electro-hydraulic production control umbilicals and related distribution equipment, including termination assemblies, electrical flying leads, and hydraulic flying leads.

The equipment will be transported to Australia on reels, aligning with offshore installation activities scheduled for the second half of 2027.

The umbilicals are designed to integrate with existing subsea infrastructure connected to the Athena Gas Plant, thereby extending the operational value of current assets.

A JDR regional sales manager stated, "This contract highlights JDR's proven capability in delivering high-quality subsea control umbilicals for complex offshore development projects. We are pleased to support Amplitude Energy's East Coast Supply Project and look forward to providing reliable solutions that contribute to Victoria's long-term gas supply."
