DATANG RENEW reports 16.86% YoY decline in June 2026 power generation, H1 output down 10.79% despite resilient solar segment

Bulletin Express
07/15

China Datang Corporation Renewable Power Co., Limited (DATANG RENEW) disclosed that its consolidated power generation in June 2026 fell to 2.03 million MWh, a 16.86% year-on-year decrease. The contraction was driven primarily by weaker wind resources, while solar output showed relatively greater resilience.

Wind vs. Solar • Wind power: 1.54 million MWh in June, down 18.93% YoY. • Photovoltaic (PV): 0.49 million MWh, down 9.58% YoY.

Cumulative Performance (Jan–Jun 2026) • Group total: 16.60 million MWh, slipping 10.79% from the same period in 2025. • Wind: 14.03 million MWh, down 13.51%. • PV: 2.57 million MWh, up 7.74%, highlighting continued capacity additions and favourable irradiation conditions.

Regional Highlights – June 2026 • Wind: Notable year-on-year increases were recorded in Xinjiang (+254.03%), Shaanxi (+29.58%), Hainan (+16.52%) and Jiangsu (+7.57%). The steepest falls occurred in Chongqing (-53.40%), Guangxi (-45.84%) and Jiangxi (-43.93%). • PV: Growth was led by Shanxi (+54.01%), Gansu (+46.67%) and Hebei (+36.02%). Significant declines were noted in Ningxia (-37.38%), Guizhou (-24.77%) and Qinghai (-24.30%).

Context Despite softer wind conditions across major northern bases such as Inner Mongolia (-29.62% YoY in June) and Jilin (-22.54%), DATANG RENEW’s solar portfolio continued to expand, contributing to a 7.74% rise in PV generation for the first half. The contrasting trajectories underscore the Group’s ongoing diversification toward solar assets to mitigate wind-resource volatility.

The disclosed figures are preliminary statistics compiled by the company; audited results will be provided in due course, subject to further verification.
