Industrial output at designated scale saw a 1.9% year-on-year decline in the first seven months, though the high-tech manufacturing sector expanded by 2.7%. Among the three major industry categories, mining output fell 8.1%, manufacturing slipped 0.9%, and utilities—covering electricity, heat, gas, and water—also dropped 0.9%.

By ownership type, state-controlled enterprises recorded a 2.3% decrease, private firms fell 2.1%, while collective enterprises surged 23.1%. Joint-stock companies dipped 0.4%, and foreign-invested enterprises, including those from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, saw a 6.7% contraction.

Across 40 industrial categories, 17 posted output growth, representing a 42.5% expansion rate. Notably, railway, ship, aerospace, and other transport equipment manufacturing jumped 44.4%, computer, communication, and electronic equipment rose 8.5%, and general equipment manufacturing grew 6.5%. Conversely, automobile manufacturing contracted 13.3%.

Product-level data showed civil steel ships soaring 2.7-fold, integrated circuits up 38.7%, railway locomotives gaining 29.1%, rolling bearings rising 28.3%, sulfuric acid (100% basis) climbing 15.3%, transformers expanding 14.2%, wood panels increasing 10.9%, furniture up 9.7%, rubber tires growing 5.9%, flat glass rising 5.6%, pharmaceutical raw materials gaining 3.8%, and ethylene up 2.9%. On the downside, crude oil processing dropped 5.7%, steel output fell 7.8%, and automobile production declined 13.2%, although new energy vehicle output climbed 29.4%.

Fixed asset investment in the province decreased 31.9% year-on-year during the January-to-July period. By industry, primary sector investment rose 3.0%, while secondary and tertiary sectors declined 32.6% and 33.1%, respectively. Infrastructure investment fell 31.1%, manufacturing investment dropped 32.6%, and real estate development investment decreased 36.0%.

Retail sales of consumer goods totaled 5896.5 billion yuan, a 1.4% year-on-year decline, with the contraction narrowing by 0.4 percentage points compared to the first half of the year. Among units above the designated size, daily necessities showed steady growth: beverages rose 7.3%, grain, oil, and food products increased 5.1%, and clothing, footwear, hats, and textiles gained 5.1%. Green and smart products saw robust demand, with wearable smart devices surging 5.4-fold, energy-efficient appliances (Level 1 and 2) climbing 73.5%, new energy vehicles rising 14.6%, and smartphones growing 12.5%. Upgraded consumer goods also performed well—sports and entertainment products increased 27.3%, cosmetics rose 11.4%, communication equipment gained 10.6%, and cultural and office supplies grew 9.9%. Conversely, petroleum and related products fell 4.8%, and automobile retail sales declined 15.2%.

Total goods imports and exports reached 4604.3 billion yuan in the first seven months, a 5.2% year-on-year increase. Exports rose 12.2% to 2634.8 billion yuan, while imports fell 2.9% to 1969.5 billion yuan. Agricultural exports grew 14.0% to 215.0 billion yuan, and mechanical and electrical products increased 18.6% to 1405.1 billion yuan. Within this category, ship exports surged 1.8-fold to 375.0 billion yuan, electronic components rose 7.4% to 162.0 billion yuan, electrical equipment gained 7.3% to 122.7 billion yuan, auto parts grew 10.3% to 93.7 billion yuan, and automobiles (including chassis) climbed 17.8% to 59.7 billion yuan. High-tech product exports rose 1.5% to 301.5 billion yuan, with electronic technology products increasing 8.2% to 160.6 billion yuan.

The consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.1% year-on-year during the period, with urban areas up 1.2% and rural areas up 0.6%. By category, food, tobacco, alcohol, and dining out prices increased 0.2%, clothing rose 0.6%, housing fell 0.1%, daily necessities and services grew 1.0%, transport and communication rose 1.8%, education, culture, and entertainment gained 0.7%, healthcare increased 1.3%, and other goods and services jumped 14.3%. The producer price index (PPI) for industrial products rose 1.1%, and the industrial producer purchase price index (IPI) increased 1.0%.
