The first 10-million-ton crude oil pipeline of the 15th Five-Year Plan period has been successfully commissioned. On August 13, the National Pipeline Network Group announced that the Lianyungang to Yizheng crude oil pipeline project, specifically the Lianyungang to Huai’an section, achieved a successful start of operations. This marks a significant milestone for China’s oil and gas infrastructure.

This pipeline is a key project for the national oil and gas infrastructure. It is the first 10-million-ton crude oil pipeline to be initiated at the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The project is crucial for optimizing the energy supply structure in central and eastern China and for improving the layout of the "national oil and gas grid."

Once the Lianyungang to Huai’an section of the Lianyi pipeline is operational, it will connect with the existing Riyi pipeline. This connection will allow crude oil to be transported to the eastern oil hub, the Yizheng station, with a maximum daily throughput of 7 million tons. This will serve refineries in Jiangsu Province and along the Yangtze River, significantly enhancing multi-channel energy supply security for users along the river. The project will play a vital role in optimizing the oil and gas pipeline network in the Yangtze River Delta region and in the unified allocation of imported crude oil resources.
