First Carolina Financial Services, a regional bank, filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Friday for an initial public offering (IPO), seeking to raise up to $100 million. The bank operates branches across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia, providing commercial and consumer financial services to small and medium-sized enterprises, individuals, professionals, and higher education institutions. Alongside its regional banking operations, the bank maintains a nationwide financial services business and utilizes a digital platform for portfolio management and risk control. As of March 31, 2026, First Carolina reported total assets of $3.4 billion, loans of $2.7 billion, deposits of $3.0 billion, shareholder equity of $353 million, and over 524,000 customer deposit accounts. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, the bank generated revenue of $141 million over the twelve months ended March 31, 2026. First Carolina intends to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol FCBM. Keefe, Bruyette & Woods is serving as the sole underwriter for the offering. Following the regional banking crisis in 2023, bank IPOs in the U.S. stock market experienced a lull. As investor concerns have subsided, the sector has seen a strong rebound in listings over the past year. Several banks, including Northpointe Bancshares, Avidbank, Commercial Bancgroup, and Central Bancompany, went public last year. Entering 2026, while the private credit market has introduced volatility to the U.S. banking industry, it has not halted the wave of bank listings. Forbright, founded by former U.S. Representative John Delaney, recently submitted its IPO application, moving closer to a public debut.
