Jiangxi Copper Company Limited released a positive profit alert for the six months ended 30 June 2026, indicating a sharp earnings rebound driven by internal efficiency gains and firmer commodity prices.
The group’s finance department estimates net profit attributable to shareholders at RMB 7.55 billion–RMB 8.50 billion for the period, up RMB 3.38 billion–RMB 4.33 billion versus RMB 4.17 billion a year earlier, translating into a year-on-year increase of 80.86 %–103.61 %.
Excluding non-recurring items, underlying profit is expected at RMB 7.63 billion–RMB 8.58 billion, a rise of RMB 3.28 billion–RMB 4.23 billion from the prior-year RMB 4.35 billion, representing growth of 75.43 %–97.27 %.
For reference, Jiangxi Copper reported total profit of RMB 5.42 billion and basic earnings per share of RMB 1.21 for the first half of 2025.
Management attributes the anticipated improvement to two main factors: 1. Operational upgrades and cost-reduction initiatives that widened profit margins through process optimisation and lower energy consumption. 2. A favourable year-on-year rise in market prices for key products, enabling the company to enhance its raw-material and product mix and capture higher profitability.
The figures are preliminary, unaudited results prepared under PRC GAAP. Detailed financial statements will be disclosed in the company’s 2026 interim report. Investors are reminded that share prices remain subject to market conditions and should consider associated risks accordingly.
