The Ministry of Commerce, along with seven other governmental departments, has recently issued an action plan aimed at boosting the consumption of smart home products. During a routine press conference held on September 17, spokesperson He Yadong highlighted four pivotal aspects of the initiative.

The first focus is on "matching supply with demand." This involves encouraging enterprises to intensify their research and development efforts in smart home technologies, particularly targeting everyday scenarios such as daily routines, healthcare assistance, and household chores. The plan advocates for the expansion of customized and on-demand service models to better cater to consumer needs.

The second aspect centers on "interconnectivity and integration." Efforts will be accelerated to implement mandatory national standards that facilitate seamless communication between smart devices. This strategic move is designed to transition the industry from isolated single-device intelligence towards a holistic, whole-house smart ecosystem.

The third theme is "elderly-friendly design." The plan encourages businesses to simplify the operation of smart home products, integrate local dialect recognition capabilities, and strengthen safety protection measures. These steps are intended to ensure that senior citizens can more easily reap the convenience and benefits that technological advancements bring to daily living.

The fourth and final point addresses "convenient household services." This initiative aims to streamline the recycling channels for old home furnishings and extend home renovation services directly to residents' doorsteps. By doing so, it seeks to remove the final logistical barriers, effectively bridging the gap in the smart home consumption journey.
