Meituan has publicly stated its firm support for newly proposed national regulations aimed at standardizing subsidy practices within the food delivery platform industry.

The company announced its position via its official social media account, responding to a draft set of ten regulations released by China's State Administration for Market Regulation, which is currently soliciting public feedback.

Meituan declared it will carefully study, actively cooperate with, and work to implement all requirements outlined in the proposed rules to ensure their effective enforcement.

The statement highlighted that extended periods of large-scale subsidies in the delivery sector have led to irrational competition, disrupting normal market order.

The introduction of these draft regulations is expected to clarify the compliance boundaries for subsidy activities, effectively curbing cutthroat "involution-style" competition within the industry and promoting its standardized and healthy development.

Meituan pledged to align its operations with all stipulations of the draft rules and, alongside other industry platforms, earnestly fulfill its primary platform responsibilities.

The company aims to help steer the food delivery industry towards healthier competition focused on quality and service, ultimately fostering a win-win situation for all stakeholders.
