S&P Dow Jones Indices will add Bloom Energy, Everpure and Illumina to the S&P 500 as part of its quarterly index rebalance, with the changes taking effect before the U.S. market opens on Sept. 21, 2026.

Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE), Everpure (NYSE: P) and Illumina (NASDAQ: ILMN) will replace Molson Coors Beverage, The Trade Desk and Builders FirstSource, respectively, in the S&P 500.

Bloom Energy shares jumped about 6% in aftermarket trading, while Everpure and Illumina gained about 2%.

The changes are designed to ensure that the major U.S. equity indexes remain representative of their respective market-capitalization segments, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices.

S&P 100 Sees Major Technology Additions

The quarterly reshuffle will also bring several prominent technology companies into the S&P 100.

Dell Technologies, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks and Sandisk will join the index, replacing Honeywell Aerospace, NIKE, Simon Property Group and Colgate-Palmolive, respectively.

The additions further increase the representation of technology-related companies in the large-cap index, with Dell, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks and Sandisk all classified within the Information Technology sector.

Mid-Cap and Small-Cap Indexes Also Reshuffled

In the S&P MidCap 400, HubSpot, AGNC Investment, Corcept Therapeutics and Brinker International will be added, replacing Boston Beer, Capri Holdings, Everpure and Illumina.

HubSpot shares rose about 4% in aftermarket trading.

Meanwhile, the S&P SmallCap 600 will undergo a broader reshuffle. Companies including Herc Holdings, Delek US Holdings, AXT, Arcutis Biotherapeutics, AtriCure, Capri Holdings, Boston Beer, Molson Coors Beverage, The Trade Desk and Builders FirstSource will be added to the index.

AtriCure, AXT, and Arcutis Biotherapeutics rose about 3% in aftermarket trading.

The changes across the S&P 500, S&P 100, S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600 will all take effect before trading begins on Sept. 21.
