Recently, CCID Consulting released its 2025 research findings on high-quality economic development in central and western China's counties and urban districts, along with the 2025 CCID Western Top 100 Counties and 2025 CCID Western Top 100 Districts lists. Several areas in Deyang were included in the rankings.

The report indicates that the evaluation system for the CCID Western Top 100 Districts is based on five primary indicators and 23 secondary indicators, assessing 237 urban districts in western China (excluding municipalities directly under the central government and national-level new areas). Jingyang District ranked 18th on the list.

For the Western Top 100 Counties, the number of entries from certain provinces (regions) varied significantly, with strong provinces and counties showing clear dominance. Sichuan Province had the highest number of entries, with 35 counties making the list. Guanghan City ranked 17th, Shifang City ranked 33rd, Mianzhu City ranked 34th, and Zhongjiang County ranked 52nd.

The report highlights that economic development in western urban districts exhibits distinct characteristics of "core leadership, clear gradients, and feature-driven growth." In terms of quantity, Sichuan had 29 districts on the list, demonstrating robust regional economic strength. By scale, 32 districts had a GDP exceeding 100 billion yuan, 13 districts ranged between 70 billion and 100 billion yuan, 51 districts fell between 40 billion and 70 billion yuan, and only four districts had a GDP below 40 billion yuan.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the overall economic scale of the Western Top 100 Counties showed steady growth, with their combined GDP rising from 4.3 trillion yuan in 2021 to 5.4 trillion yuan in 2024. The secondary industry remained the primary driver of development, with its added value increasing from 2.0 trillion yuan in 2021 to 2.5 trillion yuan in 2024.
