Apple released the iOS 18.6.1 update for iPhone users today (August 15). Beyond fixing numerous bugs and improving security, this update primarily introduces 8 brand-new emojis and enhances the Photos functionality.
According to Apple's official update notes, the 8 new emojis include trombone, treasure chest, face with spiral eyes, hairy creature (Bigfoot), collision cloud, apple core, orca whale, ballet dancer, and landslide. Among these, the "face with spiral eyes" has gained popularity on social platforms like Discord and serves as a variation of the "flushed face" emoji.
The update focuses on system stability improvements and security enhancements while expanding the emoji collection to provide users with more expressive options in their communications. The enhanced Photos functionality aims to improve user experience with image management and editing capabilities.
