Alphabet's (GOOGL.US) autonomous vehicle unit Waymo has opened its robotaxi service to all passengers in Miami and Orlando, Florida, ending its previous invitation-only model. The company has also begun highway testing in Miami, making it the fourth city after Phoenix, San Francisco, and Los Angeles to feature highway-capable autonomous operations. Waymo stated on its official website: "Leveraging our proven, safe AI technology, our universal autonomous driving system enables stable deployment across regions. Our progress in Miami and Orlando demonstrates the system's scalability, bringing future mobility solutions to more areas and people."
