SIMCERE PHARMA (HKEX: 02096) has announced that its independently developed bispecific antibody, SIM0689, targeting PD-1 and VEGF, has received a drug clinical trial approval notice from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The trial is intended to be conducted for advanced solid tumors.

SIM0689 is a bispecific antibody that simultaneously targets specific epitopes of the programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). It exerts potent anti-tumor activity by relieving tumor cell immune suppression and inhibiting angiogenesis.

In various humanized mouse efficacy models, SIM0689 demonstrated superior anti-tumor efficacy even at low doses. Its overall pharmacological effect was significantly better than that of similar molecules, suggesting it has broad application prospects in various types of solid tumors.
